New RECKEEN software version now available – Release 1.9

New software version is now available do download!

We’re thrilled to announce that from now on RECKEEN supports FreeD Protocol, therefore PTZ tracking & Augmented Reality productions are now available using Reckeen 3D Studio software*.

What’s changed in 1.9 version?

  • Better quality streaming with bitrate up to 9000 kbps
  • Chroma key with 3 colour pickers
    It’s hard to get one consistent green colour all around your green screen – the most common reason is lighting. To ensure more precise keying when the conditions are imperfect, you can now choose up to 3 colours with the picker in Simple chroma key settings.
  • New effects in 3D Studio Editor:
    • Opacity – you can now use opacity in two scenarios – you can change the opacity of any object and set it to a desired value, as well as use opacity as an effect for INTRO and OUTRO in animation settings – an object will appear or disappear from the stage by changing its opacity from or to 0%.
    • Wipe – an effect can be used for INTRO and OUTRO phases in animation settings – an object will appear or disappear from the stage by wipe effect which can be set up at different angles (multiples of 45 degree angles).
  • Virtual set scaler in 3D Studio Editor. Make any virtual set bigger or smaller using SCALE option in 3D Studio Editor. You can independently scale each of the X,Y and Z axes. This is particularly useful when using Virtual Studio PTZ tracking feature – sine you cannot change the size of a talent, you need to change the size (scale) of a 3D set, if the proportions between the talent and the scene do not match up.
  • RECKEEN XR – features for PTZ tracking & AR* RECKEEN now supports FreeD protocol, which allows for PTZ tracking and AR productions. These features are called RECKEEN XR.

ANIMATE ANY 3D OBJECT

Whether its a custom-made 3D model, or an object from our library, you can add it into a scene and animate it, creating an interactive space that adjusts to your needs and impresses your audience. Visualisation doesn’t get better than this. Convey a message effectively! For the presentation of statistics and data regarding coronavirus cases in June 2020, we’ve decided to use 3D models of the globe and a map of the USA to exhibit the information in the most clear and direct way. All elements used in the video has been prepared as static 3D models, and later animated inside Reckeen 3D Studio Editor.

SHOWCASE MEDIA FILES AND SLIDESHOWS

Organise all your videos, images, slideshow presentations and sounds and bring them up into a virtual space when it’s their time. You can even send them directly from a different laptop, PC or a phone via IP using the ever-growing NDI protocol.

The music in the background, the images and videos on the monitors used in our video have been prepared prior to the filming and waiting to be triggered to come up on the correct screen in the correct time during the production.

ADD TITLES, LOGOS AND OTHER ON-SCREEN INFORMATION

From speakers names, contact information and company’s logos, to news tickers and any other graphic compositions – to make your content look even more professional. We’ve prepared the graphics for the video titles in Photoshop, but any later modifications, such as text, scale and exact placement of the titles on the screen have been done using Reckeen’s Still Editor.

After months of preparation and hard work of RECKEEN’s team we are happy to announce new software release for RECKEEN LITE, 3D Studio and 3DSPro.
With this update we are bringing you a wave of changes developed to better your workflow, heighten efficiency during broadcast, as well as to improve the ultimate quality of the productions.

Workflow updates and changes: AutoPlay

Autoplay is a function that can be enabled on a chosen PGM Bus and it triggers automatic files’ playback from the beginning, when switching to that bus.

AutoPlay can also trigger playback of specific sources when they appear on air in Virtal Studio

AutoPlay for DSK triggers automatic files’ playback of media assigned to DSK, when bringing DSK to Program window.

Workflow updates and changes: AutoCue

AutoCue for inputs triggers an automatic transition to chosen PVW Bus after completing file playback.

AutoCue for Media triggers an automatic transition.

Workflow updates and changes: Clock for Media display

The clocks show the amount of time remaining until the end of playback of files chosen in Media and Still Trays. Last 5 seconds of playback are singled in red.

Workflow updates and changes: New trigger - General reset

When using media as CAM inputs, this trigger allows to synchronise media playbacks from all CAM inputs – starting the files simultaneously from the beginning. This feature comes especially useful for prerecorded interviews or a talks, filmed with multiple cameras at once.

Workflow updates and changes: Switcher management

Clicking on the sources on ABCD switcher automatically brings up corresponding Media Tray tabs on the right-hand side.

For a faster way to control application tabs they now remain on production screen at all times.

Workflow updates and changes: Pause option for Recording

Pause option for Recording allows pausing and resuming recording – captured material will be saved as one file.

Workflow updates and changes: “NO AUDIO” warning

Displayed warning about lack of audio during streaming or capture.

System improvements: Two-way Skype communication

You can easily add a view from Skype callers’ webcams or their screen shares as inputs. You can send Program Output signal to Skype, enabling the callers to see the view from RECKEEN’s virtual studio.

For the last decade education sector has been changing drastically – using iPads and other technology-driven interactive tools during classes is a normality, universities open online courses, e-learning companies spring up like mushrooms, schools run YouTube channels.

I still remember the shock on kids’ faces when, for the first time, they saw it. They looked at a TV screen, and they saw YouTube live stream video showing their teacher standing inside this humongous hall with walls made of glass, with snowy mountaintops view. There was an animated globe spinning around, a moving monitor with some graphs, and probably some other things that have skipped my mind already. Then, they looked up just to see the same teacher being filmed, right in front of their eyes, on a small green screen, with nothing else around. Never before, I saw kids opening their eyes so wide. There was one boy, who mentioned that he has already seen something like that during a trip to a TV station’s headquarters.

Well, actually RECKEEN system is quite similar to what television has been using for quite a while now. But, until recently, this technology was out of reach for most.
RECKEEN however, has come up with a product combining TV technology with a communicator solution that can enhance the work of educators, and make learning fun, innovative and engaging, even when there is a screen barrier between teachers and students – virtual studio e-learning system – RECKEEN e-Learning. Virtual class where classes are hosted allow for two-way interaction with students thanks to integration with a well-known Skype application.

    • Aby bezpośrednio z komputera RECKEEN móc kontrolować slajdy prezentacji otwartej na innym urządzeniu, potrzebna jest instalacja bezpłatnego oprogramowania RECKEEN Slideshow Controller, który można pobrać z tej lokacji.
    • Instalację przeprowadzamy na laptopie lub komputerze, na którym chcemy umieścić prezentacje slajdów.

  3. Gotowa scenografia wirtualnej klasy zostanie automatycznie wczytana do systemu.

Formaty video

  • 1. W trakcie lekcji możemy używać 4 różnych ujęć wirtualnej kamery (V/C 1 – V/C 4). Można z nich korzystać w sposób, w jaki zostały domyślnie skonfigurowany lub dopasować do własnych potrzeb. Więcej o konfiguracji wirtualnej kamery można przeczytać tutaj.
  • 2. W tym okienku pokazuje się ujęcie, które jest aktualnie w użyciu “na wizji”, czyli to transmitowane do uczniów lub nagrywane. To okienko nazywamy ”Program” lub w skrócie ”PGR”.
  • 3. Ujęcie, które jest aktualnie w użyciu jest podświetlone na czerwono. Aby przełączyć na inne ujęcie, należy nacisnąć jeden z klawiszy z oznaczeniem “V/C“. Więcej o ujęciach przeczytasz tu: Panel konfiguracji wirtualnego studia LITE e-learning
  1. Wczytanie materiałów i pomocy naukowych – Pokaz slajdów np. PowerPoint lub Keynote:
    • Używając kabla HDMI, do portu w komputerze RECKEEN podłączamy laptop, z którego będziemy puszczać prezentację.
    • Podłączamy kabel do portu “in” oznaczonego numerem 2.
    • Widok z laptopa z prezentacją wyświetli się w okienku KAM 2, jak i również będzie widoczny na monitorze w wirtualnym studio.
    • [Wskazówka]: w slajdach prezentacji typu PowerPoint możemy osadzać filmiki z portali takich jak YouTube. Będzie je można odtwarzać w trakcie prowadzenia lekcji.

  1. Wczytanie materiałów i pomocy naukowych – wczytanie materiałów i wideo i obrazów
    • Aplikacja RECKEEN posiada “zasobnik mediów” (ang. “Media Tray”) w prawym dolnym rogu, w którym można przechowywać różne pliki multimedialne, które chcemy wykorzystać podczas zajęć. Będziemy używać Zakładki Media 1 do przechowywania plików. Szczegółową instrukcję jak wczytać wideo i obrazy do zasobnika znajdziesz tu: Zasobnik mediów – Media Tray
    • Przy pomocy myszki wybieramy wideo lub obraz, który chcemy wyświetlić poprzez szybkie dwukrotne kliknięcie. Wybrany plik wyświetli się w okienku na górze ”Media 1”, jak i będzie widoczny na monitorze w wirtualnym studio.

      Dodatkową opcją dla jeszcze ciekawszej lekcji jest skorzystanie z opcji DSK – obraz naszego wyboru wyświetla się na tle widoku studia. Jeśli przygotujemy pokaz slajdów na zielonym tle (szablon dostępny jest w systemie RECKEEN), to przy użyciu funkcji DSK możemy pozbyć się zielonego tła zostawiając widoczną jedynie treść prezentacji. Zasobnik mediów (ang. Media Tray)

Podgląd wybranego materiału wideo/obrazu z zasobnika mediów (MEDIA1)

  1. Dodanie postaci prezentera (sygnał z kamery wideo)
    • Postacią stojącą na zielonym tle w studio nazywamy talentem. W kontekście szkoły talentem będzie nauczyciel prowadzący lekcję.
    • Aby widok nauczyciela był widoczny w aplikacji RECKEEN, trzeba podłączyć kamerę do komputera RECKEEN za pomocą łącza HDMI lub SDI. Przyjmuję, że chcemy użyć łącza HDMI. Kabel wpinamy do portu “in” oznaczonego numerem 1.
    • Talent będzie widoczny w okienku KAM 1

Zasobnik mediów (ang. Media Tray)

Podgląd wybranego materiału wideo/obrazu z zasobnika mediów (MEDIA1)

  1. Kluczowanie
    • Proces usunięcia zielonego tła, aby móc wstawić talent do wirtualnego studia nazywamy kluczowaniem, a samą funkcję kluczem chromatycznym.
    • Aby uzyskać lepsze efekty należy zadbać o dobre oświetlenie w pomieszczeniu, tak, aby równomiernie oświetlało talent.
    • Po kliknięciu w okienko KAM 1, w dolnej części ekranu po prawej stronie pojawi się funkcja “Tryb klucza”
    • Domyślnie będzie wybrana opcja Prosty Klucz Chromatyczny. Polecamy użyć właśnie tego rodzaju funkcji, ponieważ jest ona najszybsza i najprostsza w obsłudze – proces kluczowania zawarty jest jedynie w trzech krokach.

    • W oknie ustawień Skype Audio & Video wybieramy typ urządzenia i strumień.
    • Inicjujemy połączenie do grupy konwersacji (wyłączamy opcje blur – rozmycia tła)
    • Klikamy na przekreślona ikonkę kamery, wtedy pojawi się obraz z wirtualnej klasy z systemu Reckeen.W ten sposób przesyłamy wyjście systemu “Program” do użytkowników.

Wybór typu rządzenia i strumienia w Skype

    • Program możemy również nagrać, poprzez naciśnięcie klawisza “CAPTURE” w aplikacji RECKEEN.
      Lub też możliwy jest streaming do innych portali społecznościowych takich jak Facebook czy YouTube. Więcej informacji na ten temat znajdziesz w naszych filmikach instruktażowych.
  1. Podłączenie widoku uczniów w wirtualnej klasie:
    • Przechodzimy do ustawień wejścia KAM3. W oknie ustawień wejścia wybieramy opcję NDI, podłączając w ten sposób strumienie kamery i audio użytkowników biorących udział w telekonferencji Skype.
    • Po zamknięciu tego okna, w okienku wejścia KAM3 zobaczymy widok obrazu wideo ze Skype podłączonych użytkowników – widoczna będzie osoba, która aktualnie mówi.
    • Poprzez zapisanie sesji klikając w “Plik”, a następnie “Zapisz jako” zapisane zostają ustawienia, takie jak klucz chromatyczny, źródła, media czy ujęcia.
      Zalecamy zapisywać sesje, aby uniknąć utracenia wykonanych już wcześniej ustawień.

Nawigacja podczas prezentacji

  1. [Wskazówka] Nauczyciel stojąc na zielonym tle powinien mieć łatwy dostęp do klawiatury z myszką.
  2. Interakcja z uczniem.
    Dzięki funkcji “Active Speaker” na ekranie wirtualnej klasy widoczny będzie ten uczeń, który aktualnie mówi. Dzięki tej funkcji możliwa jest dwukierunkowa interakcja między nauczycielem a uczniem.
  1. Nawigacja ujęć i multimediów
    Poprzez nawigację myszką na pasku PRG (program) możemy zmienić ujęcie wirtualnej klasy bądź też pełnoekranowo wyświetlić media, prezentację slajdów lub obraz z kamery ucznia. Naciśnij:

    1. KAM 2 – aby pełnoekranowo wyświetlić pokaz slajdów,
    2. KAM 3 – aby pełnoekranowo wyświetlić widok z kamery ucznia,
    3. V/C 1 – aby wyświetlić ujęcie z trzema wirtualnymi ekranami (1. widok ucznia ze Skype, 2. pokaz slajdów, 3. wybrane media z zasobnika mediów) i nauczycielem,
    4. V/C 2 – aby wyświetlić ujęcie z dwoma wirtualnymi ekranami (1. widok ucznia ze Skype, 2.pokaz slajdów),
    5. V/C 3 – aby wyświetlić ujęcie z jednym wirtualnym ekranem (pokaz slajdów) i nauczycielem,
    6. V/C 4 – aby wyświetlić ujęcie z dwoma wirtualnymi ekranami (1. pokaz slajdów, 2. wybrane media z zasobnika mediów) i nauczycielem,
    7. Media 1 – aby pełnoekranowo wyświetlić widok wybranych mediów z zasobnika mediów

  2. Jak zmieniać slajdy używając RECKEEN Slideshow Controller

Po zakończonej lekcji, aby wyłączyć system naciśnij “Plik” w lewym górnym rogu, a następnie “Przejdź do ekranu startowego”. Polecamy na tym etapie zapisać sesję, aby nie utracić ustawień i zapisanych treści w aplikacji RECKEEN.
Na ekranie startowym kliknij w ikonę “Zamknij system”, a następnie “Zamknij aplikację”. W tym momencie może pojawić się ostrzeżenie – naciśnij “Tak”.

The 3D Editor and Wizard Editor’s library contains a huge number of ready-made 3D studio components and equipment divided into different categories.

Multiview

In addition to the available previews of the prepared video material (PRV) and of the broadcast (PRG), Multiview enables you to configure and preview all the media from the media tray, which can be accessed on a separate monitor.

Single view

You can carry out production using a single monitor. It is recommended to distribute the Single view into 3 different monitors connected to the Reckeen system.

Global illum

Ambient – a type of light that fills an entire studio and illuminates all the objects evenly. Ambient light does not come from any particular direction and it falls on all the elements of 3D scene, helping you lighten or darken them.

Audio follow

this feature allows you to mute the sound of a chosen channel up until a video signal associated with the given sound source appears on the vision.

Transitions

Reckeen system supports basic transitions such as: Cut , Fade and FTB – Fade to Black.

VIRTUAL CAMERA

Reckeen system allows you to select one of four virtual cameras (virtual cameramen) and save up to 15 virtual camera shots for each camera.
